Challenge Check in #3
For my challenge, I wrote about the Princess and the Frog. Completing this challenge enhanced my understanding of the Gothic representations by noting the differences between the movie and the story. Although the story was more drab and would not be interesting to children, I think that the movie employed more Gothic features such as voodoo and evil characters, which are not present in the original story. There were no issues in the writing process, but I was expecting the story to be a bit more interesting.

I hadn't read The Princess and the Frog prior to your challenge essay. After reading your analysis, I felt the urge to read through the original as well. Like you, I was a bit underwhelmed (to say the least) with the original story. I much, much prefer Disney's version (which is usually not the case).
